Genetische Prädisposition für Schizophrenie und ihre Überschneidung mit anderen psychischen Störungen Literaturrecherche zu GWAS im Zeitraum 2020–2022
Kurzfassung
Psychiatry deals with mental illnesses. Schizophrenia is a common mental disorder and has a complex presentation with an equally complex and multifactorial etiology. The
biopsychosocial model takes into account the interactions between the genetic, psychological and social levels. The genetic "predisposition" is given a crucial position in
the so-called stress vulnerability model. A heritability of 60 to 80% of schizophrenia has been described. The pathogenesis is a complex model of gene-environment interactions. As the twin studies have shown, there is an increased risk of developing schizophrenia if both
parents are affected.
Using GWAS studies, a large number of schizophrenia risk locations could be identified.
GWAS uses commercially available SNP genotyping platforms to identify multiple disease risk loci, opening a new avenue for understanding disease, treatment and prevention.
In the master's thesis, the schizophrenia GWAS studies for the period 2020 - 2022 were researched.
The researched studies have significantly described so-called schizophrenia genes genomewide, which are expressed in the brain, are involved in neuronal development and overlap with other psychiatric disorders.
In addition, within the 41 studies examined within the framework of this literature study, indications were found that also described the connection between schizophrenia and other disorders such as child abuse, cannabis use, sleep duration, cancer (prostate cancer), the metabolic syndrome and rheumatism.
